Yesterday, she was gone. I knew it would be hard--lots of little reminders of our time together.
- Passing by the empty guest room. As Ethan said, "It's just too plain without Granny."
- Little vitamin baggie for "A.M. vitamins" left behind for me to re-use.
- Doing dishes in the morning and leaving dishes overnight (she would never do that!)
- Making "rounds" in the morning to tidy up all the beds
- The candle on the table she bought to replace the candle she bought for me three years ago on her last visit
- Finishing up the Junior Church tree with little beaded ornaments she so graciously helped to make
- Hot dogs for lunch (who knew she loves hot dogs!?!)
- Listening to Celtic Woman Christmas--our Christmas standard while she was here
- Picking up the Vonage phone and realizing that we are on opposite ends of the phone and four hours apart again
So, as I always say,"When you're sad, make a Smilebox!" Here's a little look at our time with Granny:
