A Little Dose of Irony

Does anyone else see the irony in this advertisement? If you can't see the text on the right, it says: "Parents: Kitty Keyboard plays 20 popular melodies, 7 silly cat songs, 4 instrument sounds and rhythms--and every song can be played in the key of meow!"

I'm thinking a "toy that does less so the child does more" is like . . . blocks.

I love this post, again! As I love all of them...

I also wanted you to be excited...

So I chose to spread my comment out...

Over three screens. That way, you might, just for a moment, think that someone other than just me or your mom commented.

Either way, I am proud of you, your writing, and who you are. I am proud to be your husband, and I love you dearly!

And make this comment #4! (Actually, I got pretty excited when I saw you had 3 comments on this post -- and then I noticed they were all from Nate -- but 3 comments from someone as wonderful as Nate counts for something!) Yes, bring on the blocks and paints and Lincoln logs and crayons! Hugs, Mom

OK, so I was fooled by the 4 comments also! Very funny! Really, what does that keyboard NOT do? Anything a child can do while laying flat on her back is a little questionable :)

Hi Julie! I could seriously comment on every single one of your posts... I haven't because I felt a little like a cyber-stalker... your writing makes me laugh, it makes me cry and it makes me think deeply about Things that matter. Thanks for sharing your life on the internets! Ridiculous toy- yes. The few toys that we have that require batteries expired years ago... I started feeling bad for baby #4, so I finally replaced the batteries to a little piano that he's been carrying around- he got scared and cried! I felt very justified and "right"... but now he loves it! Oh well. Ok, so maybe I don't comment because I normally don't have the time to write books in the comment section! Hope y'all are well!

Thanks, Marian! The toys with the batteries are the ones my kids tire of soonest. We´ve got a closet full of abandoned toys. It´s the art supplies and building toys they keep coming back to. Glad you're enjoying my blog. Looking forward to seeing you all this summer!
